What to expect at your first chiropractic visit
Your first chiropractic visit includes a discussion about your health-related history, goals, concerns, expectations and treatment options.
Next, you will be given a series of focused examinations including neurological, orthopedic, postural and other physical assessments. This will give us a better insight into your condition by examining, for example, your joints, nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
We will then deliver our treatment. We are experts in delivering soft tissue therapy and, if appropriate, are skilled in chiropractic manipulation.
You can expect to see fairly immediate results given our unique combination of soft tissue therapy, spinal adjustments and cutting edge technologies.
And finally, we’ll discuss your customised treatment plan going forward.
If during our consultation, we feel we cannot help you, we’ll also do our best to refer you to someone who can.
Please also wear comfortable clothes and if you prefer to wear a gown, we’ll happily give you one.
How many treatments will I need?
For us to help repair your body correctly and fully, we give you personalised treatment suited to your specific problem. This means, our chiropractors will not ask you to sign up for a fixed set of treatments because everybody’s condition is different.
Our first priority is to help you feel better by getting you out of pain and back to your everyday activities, especially those that matter the most.
This means our initial treatments are more frequent. As a guide for an uncomplicated problem, our chiropractors typically recommend 4-6 treatments over 3-4 weeks.
For more complicated problems, you may be asked to come in for more treatment. For example, once a week or fortnightly for a period of time to fully resolve your condition.
Once your body is fully healed, we encourage you to continue with treatment from time to time to avoid future problems. Your chiropractor will discuss our maintenance care with you so it fits in with your lifestyle and goals. During this phase of care, we usually recommend 1-2 visits per month.
During our treatment sessions, our chiropractors will also give you advice on home care like activities or positions to avoid, at home exercises and/or stretches, the use of ice/cold packs and answer your questions.
What other medical information should I bring to my first chiropractic visit?
If you have existing X-rays, CT scans, MRIs or other imaging relevant to your current condition, please bring these to your first visit.
Depending on your problem, we may also refer you for a X-ray, CT scan and MRI. These images help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you.
These types of imaging may also alert us of any fractures, tumours, infection and congenital anomalies. They can also act as blueprints of your skeleton and will help us detect any abnormalities and accelerated degeneration.
Do you accept Private Health Cover Rebates for chiropractic care?
Yes, we accept private health cover claims from all funds.
All our treatments are covered under “Chiropractic” if you have “Extras” as part of your Private Health Cover.

Payments for our services are processed at the time of your consultation. This means you effectively pay a gap between our chiropractic fees and your rebate amount. This rebate amount depends upon your level of Private Health Cover.
Please call your health fund directly to ask about your rebate level as this is specific to your health insurance plan.
Please bring your Private Health Card with you to all appointments. It is usually difficult to make Health Fund claims retrospectively through our HICAPS facility for past appointments. However, retrospective claims may be made directly with your private health fund.
How can I pay for my treatment?
We accept Mastercard, Visa, EFTPOS and cash. However, we do not accept AMEX card.
